How is this different from string floss?
String floss scrapes. WaveOne flushes. The jet gets below the gumline and into tight contacts where string just bends away. A full pass takes about a minute, which is exactly why people stick with it.
Will it hurt sensitive gums?
Start on level one, which is tuned for sensitive and healing gums. Most people move up a level or two after a few weeks as things calm down. Got active dental work? Ask your dentist first.
How often do I replace the nozzles?
Every three months, same as a brush head. Four nozzles come in the box, so that is one per family member, or a full year if it is just you.
Do I need this if I already have AuraOne?
They do different jobs. The brush handles surfaces, the flosser clears out below the gumline and between teeth. Run both and it is the closest thing to a hygienist visit you can do at home. The Duo Bundle exists for exactly that reason.

My teen has braces and I bought this mainly for her, but I ended up using it too. She likes the lower setting since her gums are tender after adjustments. I crank it up to 5 after steak night and it really blasts out the fibers that get stuck. Cleanup is easy and the nozzle rotation makes it less awkward for her. We’re both flossing more often because it’s quick.

Not gonna lie I was skeptical because the last cheap flosser I tried leaked everywhere, but this one seals well and the stream is steady. I can rotate the nozzle with my thumb while I’m moving along the gumline which makes it faster. I run it nightly before bed and in the morning if I have coffee breath. After two weeks my gums are less sore and my checkup went smoother.

After a month I can say it’s part of my nightly routine right after brushing. I set it to level 3, fill with warm water, and go around my gumline slowly. It gets out the little bits I can’t see, especially from popcorn and nuts. My gums used to feel puffy and now they look calmer. I brought it on a weekend camping trip and it fit fine in my duffel with the pouch, no leaks.

I moved from string floss because my gums kept bleeding and honestly this device is so much gentler. The lowest setting is perfect for me and the pulse feels precise, not just a blast of water. I have a permanent retainer and this is the first portable flosser that really gets under it without feeling clumsy. The pulse is strong but controlled, so I can nudge around the wire and it dislodges everything. The compact body sits neatly on my tiny apartment sink and I can toss it in my backpack when I visit my sister. Honestly my teeth feel slick after using it, which I never got from string floss.

Packaging was clean and straightforward, no fuss. First time I used it I did make a small mess in the sink but after angling the tip right it was fine. The water tank is big enough for one full go if I don’t dawdle. My breath feels fresher in the morning and I notice fewer seeds stuck after salads. The travel pouch is basic but it keeps the parts together which I appreciate.
